Micropump® products are configured with many material options, including high strength, chemical-resistant advanced-engineered composites. Numerous wetted material options are available to ensure our products' compatibility with the extensive range of fluids used in the many markets we serve. Overall, the materials from which we construct our pumps help deliver precise and durable performance.


Plastics & Composites

PTFE (Polytertrafluoroethylene)

  • Used by Micropump for gears, bushings, seals, and pump body components
  • Thermoplastic
  • Chemically inert with lowest coefficient of friction

PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide)

  • Used by Micropump for gears, bushings, and pump body components
  • Thermoplastic
  • High strength
  • High chemical and heat resistance

PEEK (Polyetheretherketone)

  • Used by Micropump for gears, bushings, and pump body components
  • Thermoplastic
  • High strength
  • High chemical and heat resistance

LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer)

  • Used by Micropump for gears and pump body components
  • Thermoplastic
  • High chemical and heat resistance

Carbon Graphite (PAN - Polyacrylonitrile carbon fiber)

  • Used by Micropump for gears and bushings
  • Basic compound
  • Extremely inert with highest heat resistance

Application-specific materials such as PVDF and Polyimide are also available in certain configurations as options for gear material.


Ceramics

Alumina (Al2O3), Zirconia (ZrO2) and Silicon Carbide (SiC)

  • Used by Micropump for shafts, pistons and wear plates
  • High strength
  • High toughness
  • High corrosion and wear resistance
  • High heat resistance
  • Excellent surface smoothness

Metals

316 Stainless Steel, Alloy 20, Titanium, Hastelloy® C-276 and B-2

  • Used by Micropump for base or body and shafts
  • High corrosion resistance
  • High strength

Nickel Carbide and Hardened Steel

  • Used by Micropump for gears
  • High corrosion resistance
  • Excellent wear resistance

Application-specific materials such as A10 Steel are available in certain configurations as an option for gear material.


Surface Treatments
